I said last time was to be the last post.
Well, exceptions can be made.
Because 5Sc1 has lost a family member.

Please rest in peace.

I am not a person of religion.
But I ask you, God, if u exist.
This will be my only request
Help bring her
Our classmate
Our friend
Our family member
To a better place.

Pre- U

Woo double post since i'm bored =/
Heh since some dude said
i was being too personal >=(
i shall be keeping it professional
owh before my crap

Any1 who ever thought of going to taylor's but never really got the final push please go and teman me =D
M'kae anyway since Po Ee was asking me bout pre-u stuff and i was quite knowledgeable at it i thought i'd type out the differences in the courses over here for ur convenience ;]
Ahem, I may be wrong but i think i'm mostly rite =/

South Australian Matriculation (SAM)
This program lasts 1 year and is less exam-ly inclined, meaning that your final results do not depend only on your final exams. As far as i know i think its 50/50 between your exams and course works and projects and stuff. You'll get marks for your project works and at the end of the year it is added to your exam marks to get ur final uber marks.
I hear lots of ppl saying that this program is good because of
i) its short duration
ii) lesser stress (see, only 50% of your marks come from exam so if u know u've done well in your other stuff over the year u'l feel more relaxed)
iii) its cheaper price
The overall price for SAM averages to about 20k

A- Levels
This program lasts 1 1/2 years or 18 months. Now, the lady was saying A lvls was a total waste of time and that i should be doing SAM. Besides that, A lvls is more (if not 100%) exam orientated. This program is basically like what we've been doing in school. We study our bums off and at the end of the course u have a final exam and that's that.
Well, for the ppl who think they can study study and mayb are less sociable and cant talk really well maybe this is the course for u, or u just wanna waste some time ;]
BUT >=( 'not sociable and dislike talking' is a crappy excuse. Well, i know since i was a shy kid back in the form 2/3 years and i really was scared to talk to ppl much. If u go to SAM ther'l be presentations almost every week and i believe that will help with your public speaking skills which is IMPORTANT for your future. Correct me if i'm wrong tho i dont know much bout A lvls =/
Plus, since its longer the course is naturally more expensive than matriculation.

Foundation
I think that ppl who follow this course are great people ;]
If you dont know what foundation is, it is basically a course where you specialize in a field - meaning that you already know what you want to do in life and you dont waste time learning general studies in the other pre-u courses (SAM, A lvls).
Lets say, if you're sure you wanna become a lawyer you can do a foundation in law and you can skip all the unrelated subjects like Maths? =O i think.

p/s: any irrational or deranged deceisions made based on this post will not be faulted or blamed on me ;D

Until next time.

EDIT:
Uhm i managed to find out the % for ur final marks and other info so here goes ;]
Mm didnt know got these stuff
South Australian Matriculation (SAM):
Assessment
- external examination 50%
- internal continuous assessment 50%
Duration
- 10 months
Intakes
-January, March
Entry Requirements
- SPM, 5 credits
(For those who dont know)
A - High distinction
B - Distinction
C - Credit
I think ;] i dont know the rest =/
Num of subjects
- 5 subjects
Style
- a more balanced approach. With a shorter period and 5 subjects taken simultaneously, time management is crucial to handle the coursework and sudden pop quizzes that appear from time to time.

Cambridge A Levels
Assessment
- 100% external examination
Duration
- 18 months
Intakes
- January, March, July
Entry Requirements
- SPM, 5 credits including English
Num of subjects
- 3 minimum, 4 maximum
Style
- exam oriented. All subjects are taken simultaneously that requires in depth learning and understanding which requires strong focusing.

Avatar

First of all ty to yen =D and if any1 would like to praise me on my excellent job u can do so in the cbox.
But of course i didnt start this post to beg for praises ;] which i am not
Anyway it was a boring week so i decided to go watch this highly anticipated movie and boy did it deliver

Storyline: Mmm basically, humans have found another world which is rich in a type of valuable ore. Apparently there r lots of those stones under a big bigggg tree but the natives called the N'avis or something are living on the tree. So, since humans are incredibly smart they decided to send ppl (in this case the main character) to convince them to shift. Btw the humans have the technology to somewhat put their minds into a faux N'avi body so yeah it works ;] (lots of trust issues in it tho)
Anyway the natives didnt wana leave their big bigggg tree and as always the humans decide that the easiest way to go is to blow it up. Now, the main character, Jake is a morally developed person and he says 'nooooo this is bad.' So he goes to help the natives =D Btw there are love plots and the many twists in it too.

Visuals: The sceneries are awesomeeeee and incredibly cool. Altho i was put off by the 'Navi' look at the beginning, (they'r uber tall =O and tat makes them look weird) i got used to them. CGI was great tho.

Audio: Woot i loved all the soundtracks especially the one which was very tribal-like

Verdict: Anyone who thinks 'nahhh ther'l be more movies like this' may or may not be right but anyone who has not watched this should watch it >=) The crowd in the cinema i went to was awesomee; when the movie ended everyone started clapping and i felt high too
And for all-of-the-ppl-who-made-the-movie's sake go watch it in a cinema ;] say NOOOOO to piracy woooohoooo.

Mmmmm i thought this post would be longer when i thought about it but it seems kinda short.
Anyway....

Until next time.
